Foundation Year Course

The West Hub provides a selection of print materials relevant to the Foundation Year course. Additional books and resources can be found online, or through faculty and college libraries. While everyone is welcome to use the West Hub’s space and services, specialist library support for the Foundation Year is available at your college library, other faculty libraries, as well as the University Library.

Study Spaces

Collaborative spaces are mainly located on the First Floor (low-intensity zones), while focused study areas (high-intensity zones) can be found on the Second Floor. The North Room and the area outside the Boardrooms are designed as quiet zones, though this is not strictly enforced.

West Hub Physical Resources

The North Room on the 2nd Floor (near the lifts) contains resources for your course. You can also access the Foundation Year Course Reading List online here. The North Room is open to everyone—while the door may be closed, it is never locked, and you’re welcome to enter at any time.

Alternative Quiet Library Space

If you’re looking for a quiet, focused study environment similar to a traditional library, the Moore Library is just a 10-minute walk from the Hub and is open to everyone. You can find the library location here. The Moore Library provides a peaceful space with helpful librarians who can guide you to the right location.
