- Our Open Programme includes sessions on presentation skills, poster design for conferences, and LaTeX. Sessions are offered throughout the year. Keep informed by subscribing to our West Hub newsletter and visiting our Open Programme section.
- Book a 1-2-1 for in-depth support in addition to the Open Programme.
- Resources to help you keep up-to-date with changes in society and the work environment.
- The Research Cafés provide opportunities to connect with researchers from different fields and sectors including academia, start-ups and other communities.

The West Hub also houses print book collections with subject librarians supporting:

With workshops, resources, and subject expertise, our research support is open and available to everyone.
Some services that may be of particular interest to you:
- Open Programme: includes workshops on finding academic literature, designing conference posters, LaTeX and presentation skills
- Research Cafés: Collaborating with other STEMM librarians, the Office of Scholarly Communication and the Postdocs of Cambridge Society, we run themed research cafés where researchers can showcase their work, interact with experts from different disciplines, and receive valuable feedback from the academic community.
- Online Research Support: Supporting researchers on topics such as publishing (including Open Access), ways to share your research effectively and how to make the best use of researcher identifiers (such as ORCID).
- Collaborative Spaces: The West Hub offers collaborative spaces that are open to everyone and free of charge. The work/study space in our building was designed to be flexible and to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration. There are whiteboards that can be freely moved around and used by anyone in the building. We also offer bookable meeting rooms and pods for more private meetings or online calls.

- In-depth support: Book a 1-1 with a member of the library team for in-depth queries on topics such as those in our Open Programme, research data management support and research impact metrics.

If you are just passing by the West Hub, we can support you to make the most of your visit with a variety of print collections and events. Although members of the public can't borrow from our collections, they can be used for reference in the building.
- Hub Collection: This book collection supports learning, wellbeing and personal growth. All items were selected for the general public and are not specific to subjects. The books are curated by University Librarians focusing on reliable up-to-date information sources to support the community. The Hub Collection is located on the second floor by the meeting pods.
- Magazines: Keep informed about what is happening in the world with titles such as The Economist, The Times, New Scientist, Wired, National Geographic and others. Or if you're planning on travelling, how about Traveller from National Geographic? All latest editions of magazines are displayed on the first floor by the stairs.
- Events: Visit our Eventbrite page to discover the great events provided by our team.

Collection
Our Hub collection combines both physical and digital resources that support departmental teaching for various STEMM subjects (see more below). Additionally, it supports general learning, well-being, information, personal and professional growth, as well as family reading. The books and magazines are curated by University Librarians, who focus on providing reliable information sourced to support individuals from any academic background, as well as those from outside the academic environment.
All books are displayed on the second floor in the North Room and near the Pods. The magazines can be found on the first floor, by the stairs. If you need assistance, please reach out to a librarian at the Information Desk on the first floor.
